Real talk: how many of your issues are the result of you reflecting on the past, or even dreading the future? You're not alone in this phenomenon. most people struggling with mental health are struggling as a result of the past or future bleeding into the present..

Mindfulness, while an overused term, is a powerful tool in understanding these differences. If mindfulness is a term you don't like, that's okay. Think about how the power you do have is all based in the present. You don't have a time machine. You can't go back and change the past. No matter how much you dwell on it, it's over. There's no going back. You also can't change the future. You can do everything in your power to try to create a future but there will always be unpredictable elements that influence the outcome. Your greatest strength and opportunity for exerting your power: this second, right here. You have the most power and control over this moment you are currently experiencing. What are you going to do with it?
